Ideogram 4.5 and the image text workflow
Ideogram 4.5 is listed in Ideogram’s official model and API documentation. It offers image generation and a separate Precise Edit endpoint for changing an existing image. Type Image Kit is an independent browser text editor; it is not affiliated with Ideogram.
Generate a background, then finish the type
If exact spelling, font choice and placement matter, one practical workflow is to generate the background first, then add your final text in a local editor. This separates the image-making step from the typography step and lets you inspect every word.
What the official API documents
The v2 generation endpoint is POST /v2/image/generate/ideogram-4-5. The edit endpoint is POST /v2/image/precise-edit/ideogram-4-5. Precise Edit accepts an image and a prompt, with an optional mask to limit the edit area. Its documentation describes preservation of unchanged pixels, with caveats for oversized inputs.
For masks, the current reference specifies black for the area to edit and white for the area to keep. The mask must match the input dimensions and include both regions. Check the current reference before integrating: different image APIs can use different mask conventions.
Replacing existing lettering needs review
A request such as “Replace the label text with SUMMER BLEND, preserving the product and background” is an editing instruction, not a guarantee of exact output. Check spelling, logo integrity, alignment, and unintended changes at full resolution. Repeated attempts can add cost. This site does not currently offer AI replacement or claim it can automatically extract editable text from your photo.
Access and cost
API access uses an Ideogram account and an Api-Key header. The setup guide says requests need a payment method and available credits. Pricing depends on the model and options. The public pricing page did not expose a usable price table during our check, so we have not published a per-image price. The documented dry_run=true option validates and prices an exact request without generating or billing it.
